It's not much harder to to configure EIGRP. EIGRP converges very quickly even in very large networks. And it's very miserly with your bandwidth. It routes IPX and AppleTalk to boot. If there's a downside to EIGRP, it's that it's Cisco proprietary. You'll have to use something like OSPF or (shudder) RIP if your IGP needs to talk with non-Cisco routers. Needs lots more flesh.
